If you’re heading to Deerfield Beach, you must stay at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort. There are so many things to do!

I received a complimentary stay at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort to facilitate this article.  However, all opinions are my own.

We had about three days before we were heading out of Florida.  Florida, my home for the last 24 years was now in the distant past as we were getting ready for a new chapter in our lives in Phoenix, Arizona.

I lived in Phoenix once upon a time.  But I “grew up” in Florida.  First Miami Beach, then Midtown, North Miami, Parkland, and finally Deerfield Beach. What makes Florida unique is that it is it is surrounded on three sides by water: the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Straits of Florida.

What better way to start our journey than a staycation!  With all the prepping for the big move, the kids getting out of school, packing, etc., we really needed it.  Who can say no to 33 steps from the beach?

What to Look for When Staying at a Deerfield Beach Hotel

When looking for a family friendly hotel to stay in Deerfield Beach, we always consider the location, the room size, parking ,and amenities.

Location of Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort

Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is located in Boca Raton which is a city in southern Palm Beach County, Florida. The Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort is one of the beachfront hotels located along the shoreline of the charming South Florida town of Deerfield Beach and is surrounded by outdoor recreation, shopping, site restaurants, and unique attractions.

You can spend the day at the beach, just steps from our hotel, or take the shuttle boat to Deerfield Island Park, walk through the Arboretum, or cast a line at the International Fishing Pier. You’ll be just minutes away from water sports and water parks, as well as natural wonders like Deerfield Island Park. Plan a trip to Deerfield Beach and discover an endless number of things to do.

We used to go and watch the fireworks on the beautiful Deerfield Beach on Independence Day. Staying at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort on the Fourth of July would have been amazing. It’s all about location. Imagine watching the fireworks from your room while everyone is camped out on the beach. Something for the bucket list!

But now we were on our way to Phoenix so it will have to wait for another trip. And we were thrilled stay at the Wyndham no matter what time of year it was. The great thing about staying on the beach when the weather is hot is that you can just walk out of your room and walk right across the street to the ocean. You can also enjoy Deerfield Beach boardwalk.

The Room

The room at Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort was spacious and inviting with French windows leading to a magnificent ocean view. It comes with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and hard-wired Internet access, plush bedding, and rejuvenating bath products.

Also a 24/7 fitness center and business center are provided for your convenience—without a resort fee. not to forget that at Wyndham hotels they offer great room service

The bathroom is also rather spacious with luxurious rainfall shower heads with a contemporary spa like feel all around and hair dryers.

Restaurants at Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort

Burger Craze

We hit Burger Craze, which is perfect for families. The bar mixes cool drinks with classic tunes playing in the background. Seating is comfortable. and family oriented with kids’ menus with crayons to keep them busy.

The wings are to die for (for my kids, ha-ha) and the Seared Tuna Wedge Salad is amazing.  The dishes have an extra flare to them.  Next time I go I am getting Truffle Fries and Kobe Beef Sliders!

Cafe Med

We had breakfast twice at Cafe Med, a family style Italian bistro.

The kids loved it there, eating smiley face pancakes and Frosted Flakes, getting all sugared up for a run on the beach.

We hit Cafe Med again the next day for a wonderful breakfast. It has a warm, cozy ambiance and a family feel where people gather for big conversations and big portions.

Their website says “Food is love and at Cafe Med, that passion is expressed in an exciting blend of Old World traditions and New World flair.” Our breakfast there was exactly that.

I had the pleasure of trying Executive Chef Lilio Teodusi’s PANCAKES CON RICOTTA (Three fluffy ricotta pancakes with lemon zest served with honey lemon syrup & side of apple wood smoked bacon or breakfast sausage).

It was absolutely delicious. A contemporary approach to the pancake while still retaining the traditional look and taste.

BISETECCA CON LE UOVA

My husband had the BISETECCA CON LE UOVA (Tuscan countryside breakfast, Grilled 6 oz. Sterling cut NY steak, two eggs any style, home fries). The food was fresh and filling.  We walked away full.

Where else can you go and wake up to this everyday and have breakfast while watching it? We will surely miss Deerfield Beach as we head out on our road trip to Arizona where we will settle.

My boys will never forget this staycation and we look forward to more in the future with Wyndham. The Wyndham has some great hotels on the Florida beaches too.

Once we hit the beach we didn’t want to leave. We rarely went to the beach when we lived in Florida.  Sometimes it’s just too much work between parking, bringing chairs, toys, towels. After that go home clean up the sand… inside and outside of the car.

On our staycation we really were able to enjoy the beach the way it is supposed to be enjoyed!

The kids collected seashells and we found a crab claw!
