5 Things You Don't Know About Santeria
January 21, 2020

I had the opportunity to travel to Cuba through Fathom.org a few months ago, and it was amazing!  I've always loved the Cuban lifestyle, specifically the food, haha!  I lived in Miami Beach for ten years and got to know the culture and made many Cuban friends.  I quickly learned their language in Spanglish so I could sell cosmetics to the shoppers at Downtown Macy's.  I drank coladas daily and enjoyed the amazing cuisine at David’s on Miami Beach, which closed after many years.   Because I got to know Cuban people so well living in Miami, I quickly learned that most them were very religious.  5 Things You May Not Know About SanteriaSanteria is Considered a Religion.Initiation is a Big Part of Santeria.Santeria has many …

A Vacation for Every Member of the Family
November 15, 2019

Photo by Holland America Line Here’s one vacation I’ve found that can please every member of the family. I’m talking about a cruise. Some 40 percent of grandparents are traveling with their grandchildren, AARP reports, and Holland America is the best choice for multigenerational groups. Families enjoy Holland America’s upscale, mid-sized ships ranging from 1,258 to 2,666 guests -- smaller than many megaships but with plenty of onboard entertainment. Photo by Holland America Cruise Line Sail to the Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale or Tampa; to Mexico from San Diego this winter; Alaska or the Mediterranean next summer. Young “Frozen” lovers want to visit Norway and northern Europe. Visit the Panama Canal. Nearly all Caribbean itineraries include a stop at the private island Half Moon Cay.  Or join a bucket …

5 Accessible Destinations to Visit in Costa Rica
October 2, 2019

I recently spent six days in Costa Rica enjoying everything the country has to offer through . We could not have truly enjoyed these beautiful sites without our amazing tour guide Luis Diego Soto from Il Viaggio Travel. Visiting these amazing locations, I could not help but think about the people in my life that may have passed up an opportunity like this because of their accessibility issues. They may have denied themselves of the experience of a lifetime by assuming that these places were not accessible for them. Everyone should have the right to travel and experience what different cultures have to offer. Obstacles like physical, sensory, and mental disabilities should not prevent tourism. Age should not stop someone from traveling. Some people don't get to …

Why Greece is a one of the Cheapest Countries to Visit in Europe
May 7, 2019

Greece is probably my favorite country to visit in Europe.  The fact that I am half Greek probably makes me bias. I grew up visiting my Yia Yia every summer in Glyfada, Athens, a beautiful beach town on the outskirts of Athens.  I can still hear the watermelon truck passing by during our siesta and feasting on it after a long day at the beach.  To this day, the smell of Coppertone takes me back to my youth, playing with my cousins on the beach. I have the best memories of visiting the islands and spending time with my family. Best Time to Visit A lot of people visit during the summer months, but it is hot.  Not to worry, the beautiful beaches will cool you down! April …

Travel Essentials for a Family Road Trip
May 4, 2019

We took a 8 hour long trip to California last month and the last time we did a cross country road trip from Florida to Arizona we depended on snacks like Munchpak, My Keto Snack Box, and Lucky Bars to get us through that week long road trip.  We also used Precidio Drink Box's and Snack Box's. This time our road trip was filled with mostly the same travel essentials! Precidio Drink Box and Snack Box We don't go anywhere without our Precidio Drink Box. There's nothing worse than carrying around a heavy thermos.  The Precidio Drink Box is light weight and looks like a juice box, except without the leaking and it's reusable. We also use the Snack Box which has a divider so that you can add sweet and salty.  It's all …

Where to Stay in Anaheim Close to Disneyland and Knottsberry Farm
April 19, 2019

We recently took a 7 hour road trip heading to Anaheim to visit Disneyland and Knottsberry Farm for the first time. The kids were super excited! We took our essentials (17 suitcases and 25 duffel bags, just kidding...) and headed out on the road.  While preparing for this trip we scoped out some hotels and timeshares  to figure out the best locations to stay so we would be close to everything, including restaurants, shopping, and of course Knottsberry Farm and Disneyland. Our main concerns were: Peacock Suites Resorts We found the Peacock Peacock Suites resorts.  It is located within walking distance from Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium and The Shops at Garden Walk. Shops at Garden Walk Having the Shops at Garden Walk within a 5 minute walk was a lifesaver as it saved 3 …

How to do CityWalk™ and Universal Orlando™ in One Day
March 2, 2019

We knew Universal Orlando Resort.™ was going to be a long day for us considering we had two theme parks and Citywalk™ to check out.  With two boys under five-years-old, we had to have a plan.  We took into consideration a few things: First, it was October and they were having Halloween Horror Nights. Both boys  do not like big, animated characters walking around, especially if they are scary.  So, we knew that we were not going to be participating in that.  Because Universal Studios would be closing early for Halloween Horror Nights, we decided to do that theme park first. We also had to consider where we wanted to eat because we wanted to experience a restaurant in Citywalk™ but knew the kids would be too tired …

How to take a Solo Vacation Guilt Free
February 15, 2019

How many times do people tell us moms to take a vacation solo? "You need to get away", they say, "have some time to yourself, without the kids." Well, it's easy for them to say but not so easy to do.  So, when I had the opportunity to take a vacation by myself, at first I said yes right away.  But then a little mom-guilt set in.  My boys were asking why they couldn't go.  I had just come back from a press trip to Costa Rica.  I had mom-guilt all the way! We do go on a lot of family trips, like the one where we stayed at the Wyndham Sedona. We go to Disney, Universal and Legoland and so many family friendly places. It …

How to find Hotels and Family Friendly Destinations in Costa Rica
January 28, 2019

I recently visited Costa Rica and experienced a lot of what the country has to offer using a family focused tour operator. In the past, I may have thought about using my amazing travel expertise and knowledge on where to stay, however, Costa Rica is a country I knew nothing about and bringing my family there without knowing what places would be accessible to us was a little scary.  A "family focused tour operator," specializes in family, so they know what they are talking about. These are all questions we don't often get asked when we travel. Wouldn't it be nice to know that someone has prepared all of that for you in advance?  Costa Rica Family Holidays can do that and so much more so that …
