Dine in an Igloo at the Hilton Sedona Resort At Bell Rock
May 10, 2021

If you told me a year ago that I would be in Sedona this time this year, I'd say, "of course I will be!" I visit the 'Spiritual Mecca of the Southwest’ often. It's my escape from the hustle and bustle of Phoenix. But if you told me that I would be dining in an igloo, I'd probably laugh. First of all because we live in the desert and second, why? Until I visited Hilton Sedona Resort At Bell Rock, I didn't really understand the concept of dining in an igloo. Sedona’s only full-service spa and an 18-hole golf resort is set amidst the spectacular beauty of the magnificent red rock formations surrounding Sedona. The igloo adds the magical, romantic feeling to the resort. But in fact, …

Top Family Friendly Things to do in Oceanside, California
March 27, 2021

It's so hot here in Arizona!  But I do prefer the dry heat to Florida's humidity.  I've noticed that this is the time many people escape to California for a cool break.  California weather is absolutely beautiful and it is the perfect place to check out some family friendly actives with the kids, including beach days. We had been to Anaheim a few months prior and loved it.  This time we wanted to see more of the beach, along with hitting up some family friendly things to do, so we decided to visit Oceanside. We also checked out the Oceanside Calendar of Events to see what what kind of kid's activities are available in Oceanside while we were there. It turns out that there are tons …

11 Awesome Travel Books for Kids
March 21, 2021

We love traveling. I grew up in Europe and moved to the United States when I was 8 years-old. Before then, I spent summers in Greece with my Yia Yia. We drove through Italy and I had been to Spain and France before 7 years of age. We traveled a lot. My father is Greek and my mother is English. My husband is French so that makes us a diverse family being first generation Americans. It's always been important in my family to travel. Whether it's to a new park in another city or hopping on a ferry to go to another country. We always wanted to see the world and it's different cultures. With Covid this year, we were stuck. …

5 Accessible Destinations to Visit in Costa Rica
March 2, 2021

I recently spent six days in Costa Rica enjoying everything the country has to offer through . We could not have truly enjoyed these beautiful sites without our amazing tour guide Luis Diego Soto from Il Viaggio Travel. Visiting these amazing locations, I could not help but think about the people in my life that may have passed up an opportunity like this because of their accessibility issues. They may have denied themselves of the experience of a lifetime by assuming that these places were not accessible for them. Everyone should have the right to travel and experience what different cultures have to offer. Obstacles like physical, sensory, and mental disabilities should not prevent tourism. Age should not stop someone from traveling. Some people don't get to …

How to do CityWalk™ and Universal Orlando™ in One Day
March 2, 2021

We knew Universal Orlando Resort.™ was going to be a long day for us considering we had two theme parks and Citywalk™ to check out.  With two boys under five-years-old, we had to have a plan.  We took into consideration a few things: First, it was October and they were having Halloween Horror Nights. Both boys  do not like big, animated characters walking around, especially if they are scary.  So, we knew that we were not going to be participating in that.  Because Universal Studios would be closing early for Halloween Horror Nights, we decided to do that theme park first. We also had to consider where we wanted to eat because we wanted to experience a restaurant in Citywalk™ but knew the kids would be too tired …

Things to do in Anaheim, California
February 19, 2021

We recently took a 7 hour road trip heading to Anaheim to visit Disneyland and Knottsberry Farm for the first time. The kids were super excited! We took our essentials (17 suitcases and 25 duffel bags, just kidding...) and headed out on the road.  While preparing for this trip we scoped out some hotels and timeshares  to figure out the best locations to stay so we would be close to everything, including restaurants, shopping, and of course Knottsberry Farm and Disneyland. Our main concerns were: Peacock Suites Resorts We found the Peacock Peacock Suites resorts.  It is located within walking distance from Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium and The Shops at Garden Walk. Shops at Garden Walk Having the Shops at Garden Walk within a 5 minute walk was a lifesaver as it saved 3 …

Bearizona Wildlife Park
February 16, 2021

The pandemic really has us spinning last year. We are a family that loves to travel and our traveling was cut short because of Covid-19. Even though we did some traveling while remote learning, we still didn't do our usual zoo visits, play dates and theme parks. We mostly focused on backyard activities and having road trips within Arizona, like Sedona and Flagstaff. My favorite place to stay in Sedona is Sky Ranch Lodge. If you're looking for a family vacation rental, you may want to try Wyndham Sedona. There are lots of things to do in Flagstaff also. l Just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Sedona and Flagstaff is the best drive thru Wildlife Park in Arizona, Bearizona. A drive …

8 Travel Hacks for Traveling During a Pandemic
February 3, 2021

After six months of quarantine for the Covid-19 pandemic and now three weeks of being stuck in the house with my husband away, I was about to lose it.  It is so hot in Phoenix and there are only so many indoor summer activities one can do. The boys were aching to go outside and it's too hot to do any back yard activities. Of course, we aren't going on any play dates and we don't have a pool so we decided to take a short road trip to a hotel that had a pool.  Yes, we stayed at a hotel basically to use their pool. Apparently, we are not alone. So, we are thinking of travel hacks for traveling during a pandemic (always …

How to find Hotels and Family Friendly Destinations in Costa Rica
January 28, 2021

I recently visited Costa Rica and experienced a lot of what the country has to offer using a family focused tour operator. In the past, I may have thought about using my amazing travel expertise and knowledge on where to stay, however, Costa Rica is a country I knew nothing about and bringing my family there without knowing what places would be accessible to us was a little scary.  A "family focused tour operator," specializes in family, so they know what they are talking about. These are all questions we don't often get asked when we travel. Wouldn't it be nice to know that someone has prepared all of that for you in advance?  Costa Rica Family Holidays can do that and so much more so that …

A Staycation at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort
January 28, 2021

We had about three days before we were heading out of Florida.  Florida, my home for the last 24 years was now in the distant past as we were getting ready for a new chapter in our lives in Phoenix, Arizona. I lived in Phoenix once upon a time.  But I "grew up" in Florida.  First Miami Beach, then Midtown, North Miami, Parkland, and finally Deerfield Beach. What better way to start our journey than a staycation!  With all the prepping for the big move, the kids getting out of school, packing, etc., we really needed it.  Who can say no to 33 steps from the beach? When looking for a family friendly hotel to stay in Deerfield Beach, we always consider the location, the room size, parking …

Budget Friendly Things to do in Flagstaff, Arizona with the Family
January 23, 2021

Thank you to Wyndham, Flagstaff for hosting us. All opinions are my own. We recently went to Flagstaff, Arizona with the boys.  They were so excited to play in the snow but other than that, we weren't sure what kind of activities we were going to do but we wanted to discover Flagstaff.  Because of the weather, we had to prepare a bit. It's amazing that you can go from wearing a tee shirt in Phoenix to snow boots and winter clothes in just 2 hours. This is a great reason to live in Arizona. The weather in different areas is so versatile. There are so many things to do in Arizona. Just up the road and only 85 miles away …

Traveling During Covid while Remote Learning
January 4, 2021

Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery when things seem to be so heavy, like the state of the world. Remote learning is not my forte, but I do what I need to do. It's got to get done! We are not a family that sits still. We love family travel like taking road trips and discovering new places. So, when we stayed in Heber Overgaard, we drove to Pinetop to eat lunch and decided we needed to go back. This time would be different though. Traveling during Covid takes careful thought. We are in the middle of a pandemic where traveling is less appealing to some, but with the right tools, we make it happen. We …
