We all love hot cocoa but have you ever tried making a Hot Cocoa Bomb? It’s super fun and easy. We love making hot chocolate bombs in our house. Every season, including Springtime is a reason to drink hot cocoa!
These special treats are a fun idea for special occasions too like Valentine’s Day. They are also great Easter Basket ideas!
Cocoa Bomb with Peeps
We are not big cereal people but this recipe called for Peeps Family Size Cereal. We sorted out the mini peeps (colored marshmallows) to use inside the Cocoa Bombs. Then I added the the cute bunny and ducks mini peeps on the outside to decorate it.
You can even make these delicious hot chocolate bombs with your kids. They will be so excited when they see their very own creation in their mug. Plus, the best part is that these bombs are filled with Mini Peeps (mini marshmallows).
This makes them extra special for Springtime.
These Easter Hot Chocolate Bombs are simple to make, using chocolate melts or Lily’s chocolate chips, mini Peeps marshmallows, and sprinkles. Make this delicious treat today and enjoy it while watching an Easter movie or reading an Easter book together as a family.

- Silicone Mold
- Gloves

Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Wilton Candy melts Dark Cocoa or Semi-Sweet Lilys Baking Chips
- 1/4 Cup Wilton’s White Candy Melts or Lily’s White Chocolate Baking Chips (optional)
- 1/4 Cup Mini Marshmallow Peeps (I sift through just for peeps)
- 1 Tablespoon Ghirardelli Chocolate Premium Indulgence Hot Cocoa Mix
- Easter Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions for Cocoa Bombs with Easter Peeps
- Melt chocolate chips (start with 1 min 50% power) in a microwave-safe bowl. Do not over melt – just stir lumps until melted
- Spoon chocolate with the back of a spoon into the mold making sure the spoon coats the sides of the mold
- Put mold on a tray or cutting board and into the refrigerator for 30 mins
- Pull half spheres chocolate molds out of molds when ready using gloves (if you don’t want fingerprints)
- Heat up a small plate for 1 minute
- Place mold on the plate to smooth out and fill with 1 Tablespoon of Cocoa Powder (hot chocolate mix)
- Put mini peep marshmallows and Easter sprinkles (if you want inside)

Bunny Ears and Carrots
- Place other half sphere on hot plate and smooth out and immediately place on top of cocoa filled mold
- Heat up some white chocolate chips and spoon into a ziplock bag, cut off tip and drizzle melted chocolate on top. Add sprinkles and mini Peeps.

Ingredients
