My Review

My three year old son and I really enjoyed reading this “mystery.”  It revolves around nature and the environment adding a cute freckled boy named Terry Treetop (but to my son it’s Mary Teetop) discovers an egg and goes on a mission to find its mother.  He comes across a hen, a turtle, an alligator and other animals asking if the egg belongs to them.  They all say no, explaining in detail how they take care of their eggs.  He finally realizes it came from a nest right where he found it (all along having his binoculars…which I find hilarious).

I enjoyed how each animal explained how they kept their eggs and hatched eggs with them.  I didn’t know that an alligator puts them in her mouth to take them to the water!  This book not only educated my son, but also educated me.

I also liked the rhymes and illustrations.  My son asked to read it again so we did and he really enjoyed the pictures and the story.  This seems to be the age when they really appreciate nature and animals.  It also has a bonus audio flip book for free.  Looking forward to reading more of her books!
