Rumiano Family Organic Cheese
Food - April 6, 2016

This is a Sponsored Post.  However, all opinions are mine.

Who doesn’t like cheese?  I grew up on the real thing.  And by “real thing” I don’t mean the processed stuff that we see today being sold in supermarkets.  That’s right.  My father had a farm in Greece that family lived on and they would bring us real, fresh, feta cheese.  How lucky was I?  Then we moved and my fresh feta cheese eating days were over.

I didn’t grow up on organic cheese.  Buying organic was never in the budget.  But lately, depending on how you shop, you can find a lot of reasonably priced organic products.  And now that I have children it’s even more important to watch what we eat.

Depending on what day it is, my four year old might love cheese and my two year old might hate it.  The following day things might change.  Ahhhh….the life of a toddler.  I am not in the habit of picking cheese off the floor either.  But out of the three cheeses I picked for this Rumiano Cheese Company review, one son loved the Cheddar and one loved the Smoked Mozzarella.  My fave?  The Pepperjack Cheese.  My husband liked the Sharp Cheddar as did I.

According to their site;

Rumiano Cheese Company is the oldest family-owned cheese company in California dating back four generations. Rumiano Cheese Company is committed to the organic, grass-fed and Non-GMO movement and continuing to produce the highest quality cheese inspired by their founding fathers’ recipes and cheese making techniques.  In 2011, Rumiano launched their Rumiano Family Organic line, which is the first cheese in the US market to receive Non-GMO Project Verification.

We tried the Cheddar Cheese and the Smoked Mozzarella and made grilled cheese sandwiches.  Did you know that April is Grilled Cheese Sandwhich Month?  My kids loved them.  Rumiano Cheese Company was a hit!

I am on a low fat low carb diet so I wanted to incorporate the Pepperjack Cheese into my meal.  I made Southwestern Chicken and it was delish!  I grilled chicken breasts and put them on top of sauteed corn and Trader Joes 100% Black Bean Pasta and grated the Pepperjack Cheese on top for added flavor.  Boy, does the Pepperjack have a kick!  My meals can get boring from time to time so I like to shake it up.  Rumiano Pepperjack cheese really shook it up!  Yum.

Rumiano Cheese Company  can be found at select Whole Food Markets and natural food stores nationwide.

  1. Wow that’s great to know. I love cheese and buy the store brand cheddar cheese in blocks. I will look next time I go to the store for this company. I like the idea of it being organic.
