Fun Story:
Years ago my younger son wanted a giant Zirg robot for his Birthday. I thought it was the ugliest thing ever and not really appropriate for a 4 year-old but his grandparents purchased it for him. He was thrilled!
About 2 years later, I noticed that he wasn’t playing with it anymore and took such joy in throwing it in the trash!
Then we saw the movie Lightyear and thank God he didn’t remember!
About the Buzz Lightyear Movie
“Lightyear” is a computer-animated sci-fi action-adventure that tells the story of space ranger Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, beginning with his legendary Space Ranger being marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth along with his commander and crew after their spaceship crashes.
This definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear was produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film was co-written and directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman.

Chris Evans lends his voice as the heroic space ranger and arrival of zurg makes an appearance with the voice of James Brolin.

The Story of Lightyear
The story follows Buzz as he tries to find his way home through space and time. He travels to this intergalactic adventure with the help of a group of ambitious recruits (junior zap patrol’s Izzy Hawthorne, Darby Steel, and Mo) and Sox, his charming robot companion; a cat!
A mysterious plan and an army of ruthless robots accompany Zurg, complicating matters and threatening the mission. Emperor Zurg, who was referred to and occasionally seen in the previous Toy Story films, is the main antagonist in Lightyear.
It’s a thrilling installment to the Toy Story franchise that we are excited to see!
