How Yoga Led Me To Travel the World Full Time with My Son
December 30, 2019

This is a guest post by Lana Katsaros, travel journalist and writer for We had a 30 hour travel day, and our son Atlas, who was 4 at the time, had miraculously been in a good mood for the entire journey home. He was going with the flow, which was pretty unusual for him. We historically couldn't bring him to a mall, in fear his sensory processing disorder would go into overdrive and he would be hugging the floor in 30 seconds flat. We avoided dining out, in fear a waitress would get slightly too close to him while serving our plates, he would panic and start flailing at her. I stopped bringing him to the zoo after he stripped my clothes …

How to Make Wheat Free, Gluten Free Snacks for Kids
July 17, 2019

This post was sponsored by Blue Diamond® as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own My kids love making sandwiches out of crackers.  There's something about the ritual of making it.  They get excited about what they are going to put inside the sandwich and it becomes a step by step game for them. They also love the crunch! Sometimes, they get slight skin reactions from snacks that have wheat and gluten in them.  You don't know what you're buying when you get the premade processed stuff. But I found a way to get them to make these fun snack sandwiches by themselves using fresh ingredients that are wheat and gluten free. You shouldn't have to settle for taste …

July 1, 2019

My son (Thing 1) starts 2nd grade this year and I just don't know where the time has gone! We are big on electronics in our house, however, we limit time and content.  Our tablets have settings according to their age and have restrictions on in app purchases. But I have always let my kids use my cell phone. But now I have to think about them having one to themselves? Just when I thought I had one thing down as a parent too.  It just doesn't ever stop, especially with technology advancing so much. So, when is the right time to buy a child a smart phone, if ever? Boy, have I been cautiously anticipating this conversation! I asked him below on IGTV what he thought about …

How Outside Play Gives my Kids Confidence
June 27, 2019

It is hot here in Arizona and this is our first real summer in Phoenix.  When we lived in Florida, we spent our days at the beach or playing at parks.  The kids always want to be outside and this summer, nothing has changed except the temperature! It reaches 120 degrees here in Phoenix. Temperature doesn't really make a difference when it comes to their freedom to play outside. It is probably the most important thing for them in life.  I just make sure to keep them hydrated and have them wear hats and sunblock. For a long time, I didn't understand that importance of outside play, especially when the kids were babies.  I spent a lot of time walking with them in strollers outside and that …

5 Unique Ways to get Kids to do Chores + Printables
June 16, 2019

How many of us mom's struggle to get our kids to do chores?  I've tried so many things and I've concluded that kids actually like structure, which includes chores.  So, I've started to give them a simple schedule of chores to do. It's hard with two and I definitely had fears of parenting two.  But every parent makes mistakes. Sibling rivalry is ramped in our house, so, I put a list of chores in between their bedrooms to remind them and myself.  I don't want to hear them argue about who's doing or not doing what chore. But all children are different and respond to different methods of teaching, especially with chores. So, I've picked out various methods to get them to do chores.  I tried money.  …

5 Inspirational Quotes for Mothers
May 15, 2019

Us mothers have a full, rich, chaotic, funny, silly, stressful, interesting, tiring life.  Being a mother is the best blessing I have ever had.  I never really wanted to be a mother. I was a Mother to Three Fur Babies. But after I put my dog down and turned 39 years-old I felt something missing in my life.  I wasn't ready for another dog.  I wasn't even ready for children but I knew that at 39, if it was going to happen, now was the time to make it  happen.  Although I was told that I probably would not get pregnant for other reasons, including my age, I was able to get pregnant within 6 months.  Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage.  Within another six months I got …

POKÉMON Detective Pikachu is in Theaters Today!
May 10, 2019

We got to see the premier of POKÉMON Detective Pikachu on Tuesday and it was worth the wait.  My sons have been talking about it for months. I honestly know nothing about POKÉMON except that I find the trading cards in my couch and under my bed or stashed in secret hiding places.  The boys are crazy for POKÉMON.  But I pretty much went into the movie blind. Detective Pikachu (RYAN REYNOLDS) turned out to be my favorite character.  I loved it! Detective Pikachu kept me on my toes and the boys were on the edge of their seat during the whole movie. It was suspenseful and full of comedy adventure. Ryan Reynolds stars in the first-ever live-action Pokémon adventure as Pikachu, the iconic face of the global …

How I Balance My Kid's Screen Time
January 25, 2019

This year is off to a great start and our family has so many new goals to accomplish for 2019! For myself, I have chosen to eat cleaner, do more reading, more exercise and spend more quality time with my boys. My boys have also started some new goals.  They get up with an alarm now, get dressed themselves AND make their beds.  Of course, you can't expect it to be done perfectly, but I give points for trying.  This has worked wonders for the kids.  It gives them a sense of duty and structure.  It has changed the tone of our morning routine immensely. The kids have also settled into playing with their Holiday toys and have chosen which ones they love, like the Fire HD …
