Lately, I have seen so much interest in vegan and cruelty free products.  There are so many products out there that have harsh chemicals, that are right under our noses. When I was younger, ignorance was bliss and I indulged in many things that were not good for me.

It’s not hard to lure someone in with non-toxic ingredients. Who wouldn’t want to put something completely free of chemicals and toxins on their skin? Of course no one would deliberately buy makeup that was tested on animals, but are they really aware of what they are buying and what they are inadvertently supporting.  I worked in the cosmetics industry for 10 years, and I tell you that just because it is cruelty free does not mean it is vegan; and just because it is vegan doesn’t mean it is cruelty free.  A lot of people get confused. For clarification check out this easy to read article written by Tashina Combs, Founder & Editor in Chief of Logical Harmony.

Now only because I worked in this industry does not make me an expert on cruelty-free makeup.  I’m an expert in makeup.  I just happen to naturally lean towards makeup that doesn’t cause allergies (because of fragrance and toxins) and make my eyes burn (because of chemicals).  Getting older doesn’t help.

It’s either that, or I am becoming more aware of what’s around me.  I am no expert on Vegan or Cruelty Free Products.  But since having kids, it has become more important to me what I put on my skin and what I put on my kids’ skins. In this new journey I have come across some fantastic products.  Some are verified Cruelty-Free using the Leaping Bunny Program, and some are Cruelty-Free  claiming that they do not test on animals but cannot verify that the ingredients haven’t been tested on animals by their suppliers which does not qualify them as verified Cruelty-Free.

Bella Organics Dead Sea Mud Mask
I love exfoliators and masks.  I truly believe that my skin looks the way it does because of them.  My favorite mask is Bella Organics Dead Sea Mud Mask. This mask improves the appearance of your facial skin by improving elasticity and minimizing pores, wrinkles, and lines.
When it dries, toxins are drawn out. My skin feels rejuvenated and not dried out.  This is because of Perilla Seed oil! Symptoms of skin disorders such as psoriasis, eczema and acne can be controlled by using Dead Sea mud.  Its rich mineral content accelerates natural exfoliation and restores your skin’s pH balance.  My skin feels amazing after.  You can purchase it HERE or on Amazon.

I tried LipSense a few months ago and instantly I was hooked.  I am still mourning the loss of my other designer lipsticks because I know I will never go back.  Once you try it, nothing else lives up to it.

What is LipSense? It’s a long lasting lip color that bonds on your lips on a molecular level. After shaking the tube, you apply the lip color three times, waiting for at least 5 seconds for it to dry in between coats. Then you apply the Glossy Gloss which will hydrate your lips and give a glossy look. You can reapply the gloss for hydration and/or a glossy look throughout the day. It lasts up to 18 hours. You can remove and correct with the Oops remover.  It is vegan and cruelty free. So, it has no wax, gluten, lead, or GMO’s.They are working on being Leaping Bunny Approved.

LipSense has some exciting things coming up including being featured on the 5,000 square-foot digital billboard in the heart of Times Square.

Red Apple Lipstick – The Lash Project
I’ve always loved Red Apple Lipstick products. They were the first to open up the vegan makeup door for me.  I thank them for starting this journey for me.

But my favorite product is The Lash Project.  This how I felt the first time I wore it and I still feel the same way;

“Well I am here to tell you that The Lash Project Mascara by Red Apple Lipstick blew me away.  It is one of the best mascaras I have ever tried!  I fell in love with this mascara and would recommend it to EVERYONE.  The next day after using it, my lashes seemed different.  They weren’t brittle.  The looked healthy.  It lasted for at least 12 hours, not smudging or stinging.  Why did I wear mascara for 12 hours?  Because I forgot it was there!  It was weightless.  That’s a miracle in itself. Usually I can’t wait to get my mascara off.  But not with this one.  If you’re looking for volume, it is buildable.  You can go from the “natural lashes” look to the “bold lashes” look.  You choose.  I want to wear mascara every day now.  If I could just wake up before the kids…”
Go ahead and try The Lash Project for yourself.  You won’t be disappointed.

I recently experienced EO Organics.  I am totally obsessed with the Deodorant.  But I am really obsessed with the wipes.  If you want to make the switch they have you all set.
These Natural Deodorant Wipes are effective and gentle on skin. Organic Lavender essential oil is combined with Organic Ethanol to kill bacteria, eliminating body odor at its source. Organic Glycerin keeps skin moisturized and happy.

Say goodbye to toxins.  They contain no aluminum salts, propylene glycol, or zinc salts that can clog pores and toxify the system. These wipes also come in Tea Tree and are so convenient to keep in your purse.

Want to make the switch to natural deodorant? Take the EO® 30 day Deodorant Detox Challenge!

You’ve got to check out all of these products!  They won’t disappoint.  What’s your favorite vegan can cruelty-free product?
