I received two bags of Morning Pep Almond Flour to try out. I’ve never used Almond Flour for anything but heard great things about it and I looked forward to cooking with it. So we decided to make pancakes (one of my three years old’s favorite). He absolutely loves cooking. Could it be the French in him? I don’t know but it’s a great activity and way to try new and healthy things. My husband made up the recipe (the French can do that you know…they love to modify stuff).
Although he only cooked pancakes there are many recipes that involve Almond flour that you can find on my Pinterest account HERE. I will be trying the brownies soon and will update this post when I do. But here is the recipe from Frenchy.
2 cups of flour
1 tbs baking powder
Small pinch salt
1 tbs sugar
1 cup milk
1 whole egg
3 tbs canola oil (or melted butter – not hot)
I will say that they did not look easy to make in the pan but they where well worth it. I loved the nuttiness taste to them. They were so tasty I didn’t even put syrup on them. They also seemed denser than other pancakes which made them more filling. You have to wait until you see that the pancake is completely cooked before you flip it. It cannot be liquidy otherwise it will fall apart.
My experience with Morning Pep Almond flour was great. As you can see below, for my son, the toast got pushed away for the pancakes so that speaks volumes. Now I just need to find more things to cook! As seen on Amazon:
