This is my favorite time of year. I love the smell of Holiday cheer. However, I don’t like the temptation all around me with all the sugary, fattening treats including Holiday drinks. It’s hard to stay away from fattening stuff around the Holidays.
Eating Low Carb for the Holidays
I try to practice a low carb diet and eat mostly from a Keto approved menu , but I have to be brutally honest; this is the most difficult time of the year for me. There is so much temptation! I’ve got a big sweet tooth that gets me in trouble.
There’s nothing worse that feeling guilty after eating something full of sugar and carbs. So, I try to find Keto approved Holiday desserts.
Creamy Keto Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
This year I’ve decided that I am going guilt free with Torani Sugar Free Syrups and try new keto recipes.
I’m going to make my own keto, low carb, sugar free French Vanilla hot chocolate. It sounds complicated but it’s actually so simple with only 4 ingredients!
There’s nothing like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter day.
It is simply the best Keto Hot Chocolate I have ever tasted!
Ingredients
1 cup and a half of unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of heavy cream
2 tablespoons of Torani Sugar Free French Vanilla Syrup.
Directions
Heat up the almond milk on the stove top on low heat and pour in the cocoa powder. Stir until the lumps have dissolved. Then add the heavy cream.
Let it simmer for a few minutes and take off the stove. Then add the Syrup and stir.
Four simple ingredients. No sweetener, just Vanilla Torani Sugar Free Syrup. If you’re anything like me, you don’t just stop there. Throw on some sugar-free sprinkles! You can also drizzle some sugar-free chocolate.
Just dip the rim of your mug in the hot cocoa and press down on a plate of sprinkles. Twist the cup into the sprinkles and they will stick to the rim.
Of course, no Holiday drink is complete without whipped cream. Did I say that I love that heavy cream is part of the keto diet, lol? I also added a splash of Torani Sugar-Free French Vanilla Syrup to sweeten it.
You can also add liquid stevia.
Keto French Vanilla Hot Chocolate
This is a low carb, keto hot chocolate recipe sweetened with Toriani French Vanilla Sugar Free Syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 Cups of Almond Milk
- 2 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 Tablespoons of heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tablespoons of Toriani French Vanilla Sugar Free Syrup
Instructions
In a medium pan on medium heat add almond milk whisk together with the cocoa powder, making sure to break up any lumps.
add in the heavy cream and let simmer
take off heat and add the sugar free syrup
add homemade whipped cream and sugar free sprinkles as desired
