I grew up on quiche lorraine when I lived in the U.K. My mom used to make it all the time. I forgot all about it until I started low carb dieting.

Egg fast recipes are popular right now. With everyone gaining weight from the stress of the world, a lot of people have neglected their low carb diets. The Keto Diet helps a lot of people shed extra pounds using healthy fats but sometimes you just need an extra boost for weight loss.

The Egg Fast Quiche is a simple recipe that is delicious, and it will work great for your egg fast! You just need four ingredients and you’re good to go! It just takes a couple of minutes to set up and it’s just 3 net carbs per serving.

This low carb quiche recipe is awesome because it makes 6 servings and you can keep them in the refrigerator for at least a week or freeze some of it for later. It can be included in your Egg Fast or just eaten as a low carb dish. It’s a great recipe for any time of day, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Everyone loves a cheese quiche!

What is the Keto Egg Fast?

  1. Eat eggs all day 6-11
  2. For every egg consumed, you will have to consume one tablespoon of healthy fat; olive oil, sugar free mayonnaise, MCT oil, coconut oil, butter, avocado oil.
  3. Consume one ounce of cheese per egg, max 4 ounces a day
  4. Eat an egg within 30 minutes of waking up.
  5. The minimum time between meals should be 3 hours.
  6. Drink the maximum of 3 diet sodas a day (optional)
  7. No sugar or sweetener.
  8. Stop eating 3 hours before bedtime.
  9. Drink 6-8 glasses minimum.
  10. Limit seasonings to less than 1g.
  11. Tea and coffee is permitted but no cream.
  12. No dairy, no meat, no veggies, no fruits.

One of the basic rules of the keto egg diet is that it’s meant for a short period of time. Fat fasts are popular, this just happens to involve eggs and simple ingredients.

After 3 days, you can resume to your regular ketogenic diet.

Keto Egg Fast Quiche Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces grated cheddar cheese and divided
  • 12 Happy Eggs
  • 4 Ounces of full fat cream cheese
  • 12 Tablespoons of butter (preferably grass fed)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • green onion and fresh herbs (optional)

Directions

  • Dump half of the cheese into a 9.5 inch pie pan, pie plate (or large bowl)
  • Add eggs and cream cheese into a food processor or blender.
  • Slowly add butter.
  • Pour egg mixture over cheese in pie dish.
  • Add the rest of the grated cheese on top.
  • Bake at 325F for 45 minutes

Keto Quiche Vs. Keto Egg Fast Quiche

If you’re not into rules, although you must be if you’re reading this post, ha, you can substitute some ingredients to change up the taste of the quiche.

I love a good breakfast quiche. I don’t just eat it during a fast. So, instead of cheddar, you can use or Swiss cheese or Gruyere cheese. I also love green onions (scallions), they can really accent any recipe. I would add some leftover ham and a splash of heavy cream. I’m not great with measurements, so you’re on your own there….

If you want a crust you can use a keto pie crust. You can totally change the original recipe and still stay keto! Obviously, this recipe would not work for an egg quiche. But it is something different.
