I can’t believe the school year is over. It’s been a whirlwind of a year; none of us will ever forget. The kids started out doing virtual and finally did in person schooling. Looking for homeschool hacks and backyard activities were getting old!

The teachers have been amazing. They have gone above and beyond.

I started substitute teaching and got a first hand glimpse into the life of teaching. It is not easy. But it is especially hard doing it through a pandemic. The teachers put their lives on the line for the sake of teaching my kids.

Last week was teacher appreciation week, and I wanted to get teacher gifts to them but it will have to wait until the end of the year teacher’s gifts.

So, I really wanted to make them something special and make a fun gift. I wanted something personalized. They have done so much for us. It’s just a simple token of appreciation.

So, I checked out some teacher appreciation gift ideas.

I purchased a hanging wood board from Micheal’s.

I stained the wood just to give it some texture. This is optional. I also used white spray paint to spray the wood plaque and let it dry for a few hours. We live in Arizona so it dries fast.

I used Gorilla Wood Glue to stick the rulers on the sign and also the letters. You can find all different kinds of fonts for the letters, but I used Vintage Sign Wood Letters A – 4″.

For these letters, which were smaller, I used laser cut typewriter wood letters.
