Have you been to Fort Lauderdale’s FATVillage? It’s so much fun!
I was given the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to facilitate this article. However, all opinions are my own. There are also affiliate links in this post which means that if you click on something and purchase it, I make commission.
I’ve lived in Florida for 24 years now, half my life! When I moved to Miami Beach it was the late 90’s and I didn’t own a car. I didn’t need one. I just rollerbladed to work. Ahhhhh, to be young and free again.
I moved more north when the Miami Design District started to pop up. I made it to Fort Lauderdale a handful of times. But I recently went to go see FATVillage. I had heard about it, that it was a cool art district where there were fantastic restaurants and coffee shops.
I hopped in my ride for the week, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and I headed to Henry’s Sandwich Station.
I really enjoyed the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. It’s so different from my daily driver which is a large SUV. The Outlander Sport is a great middle point between a full-size SUV and a sedan. It’s quick, easy to drive, and comes with a very decent level of electronics. It connects to Apple Car Play and Android Auto so you can easily access your favorite playlist on your phone or connect to Pandora.
The version I drove also came with a 4×4 option with is very practical if you live in places where it snows, or when you need the additional traction. My parents have a house in the mountains in Arizona and you can’t go up the hill to their house safely when it’s cold if you don’t have an all-wheel drive capable car.
So, if you want the look and the size, but don’t want the $50,000 price tag of a Porsche Macan, then the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is an option to give some serious consideration.

I rolled up to FAT Village and was instantly in love. I drove around to check out the murals and take pictures.
So I hit up Henry’s, and have been drooling for their food ever since. I HAVE to go back.
I loved the modern, industrial décor.
This is what I walked into; homemade cookies from the bake shop. And I didn’t look back…
We started with a delicious Tomato Bisque and a beautiful Beet & Goat Cheese salad with heirloom beets, baby arugula, goat cheese, candied pecans, fennel, and citrus vinaigrette. Both were fantastic appetizers.
Of course, I never met a grilled cheese sandwich without a side of fries. Would you believe Henry’s has a French Fry Bar? These were the garlic pesto fries.
I have to say though, that this was my favorite item and I will be going back for this in particular. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich threw my taste buds into a tizzy.
This southern fried chicken breast with sweet & spicy pickles, mike’s hot honey, shaved lettuce, duke’s mayo, and brioche was spectacular! I’m not sure there are words to describe this but it needs a new title. It’s just phenomenal. No words!
Now I understand why their pies sell out in the morning. I tried the Banana Cream, the Apple Crumble (omg), and the Chocolate Peanut Butter. The Chocolate Peanut Butter is ridiculous. I’ve never had anything like it. Another excuse to go back.
So, whether your looking for a craft beer or soda, old school vintage candy bars, or just a fantastic meal, check Henry’s Sandwich Station out. You will be hooked. Henry’s Sandwich Station is located in FAT Village, Fort Lauderdale.
