Lately, I have been obsessed with the new viral Cocoa Bombs (aka Hot Chocolate Bombs) that are all over the internet. We made Christmas Hot Chocolate Bombs, New Year’s Eve Bombs and my favorite; great for Valentine’s Day and New Years, the Proposal Bomb. All these made with my favorite hot chocolate mix, hot water and silicone molds (you can also do heart molds).
This post is focused on the surprise Valentine’s Hot Chocolate Bomb recipe with a hidden surprise for adults. I love surprises, especially jewelry. But this is still a perfect treat without surprise.
It’s so much fun to watch someone see something pretty that they aren’t’ expecting. It’s one of the joys of giving.
NOTE: This is NOT for children as charms can be choking hazards. For kids Valentines Ideas check out Cheap Valentine’s Day Boxes

* If you decide to make this with an item inside, plan this out carefully, and do not leave around children or animals – they are a chocking hazard.
One of my favorite parts of making the Valentine’s Hot Chocolate Bomb is decorating with fun sprinkles. Visually, they really stunning with a surprise are a great gift.

Make sure to add a label and tell them that there is something in there to look out for.
What is a Hot Chocolate Bomb?
A hot chocolate bomb ( also called a hot cocoa bomb) is a thin chocolate shell filled with cocoa powder and marshmallows. Sometimes there are other goodies added inside this sweet treat. I added a charm in this one. Depending on the flavor, there are usually some decorations on the top of them. I love decorating the Cocoa Bombs with sprinkles.
All you need to do is add steaming milk and you have yourself a cup of hot cocoa.
Not everyone knows how to make hot cocoa bombs, but this recipe is really easy. The charms are optional.

Notes
Exact amounts of ingredients needed or yield may vary depending on the actual silicone mold you use. Silicone molds come in all sizes - with the one's I purchased, I used the large ones, so if you don't use the exact same one we did, you may end up needing more or less of each ingredient. I used a full tablespoon of Cocoa in each mold.
If you are drizzling the white chocolate on top of bomb, make sure it cools a little otherwise it will put a hole in the bomb
