Are you looking for rock painting ideas for kids? I found some adorable Fun DIY craft tutorials that everyone will love. Make this a family project, show some kindness and drop them off at your neighbors.
We recently found ourselves looking for some new kids activities to do inside, Just when we think we can’t find any thing more creative to do, I dig around and end up finding something, like fun diy rock painting tutorials.
Unfortunately, we lost the privilege to just pick up and go to the park or go to the public pool or water park. This virus has tried to ruin our summer. Gone are the days of endless play dates. It’s been trying on our family.
But we did find some fun indoor activities to do, along with back yard activities including water toys. There’s always something.
Kindness Rocks
Then I thought maybe we could do something nice for others while doing a fun activity; like kindness stones, also known as story stones.
I always knew about it, and we even tried DIY rock painting a few years ago. But this time I wanted to do something more intricate and with a positive message. We set out to do a kindness rocks project.
Rock Painting Supplies
Here are some ideas for rock painting supplies.
- Googly Eyes
- Flat Rocks -if you can find some river rocks laying around in your back yard, that’s great- if not get some flat rocks from amazon.
- Water Soluble Paints-We took Lil’ Poster Paint Pods and the Brush Works Paintbrush Set. The Lil’ Poster Paint Pods are a complete set (12) of water soluble poster paints for in reusable “paint pods.” Included in the set is a paintbrush and a convenient travel case so they don’t get lost.
- Sealant- here are many different sealers for rocks. It depends on if the rocks are for inside or outside, etc. Since ours are garden rocks, we chose Krylon UV-Resistant Clear sealer. I like it because it’s a spray and shines when it’s dry.
- Paint Brushes- The Brush Works Paintbrush Set is an all-in-one set with 7 nylon paintbrushes of different sizes and styles.
