This is a Sponsored Post for Fit Foodz Cafe. However; all opinions are my own.
I try to live a healthy lifestyle. I exercise and try to eat as clean as possible. I also try to demonstrate healthy eating habits to my kids and I can say that they are pretty health conscious now. Neither one of them eat red meat, which was not my choice, but theirs.
When I was pregnant with my first son six years ago I had a food aversion to red meat and have not been able to eat it since. I am not vegan or vegetarian. I just listened to my body. I love healthy options. I always feel better eating gluten free, however, I do not have any food allergies or any major dietary restrictions. But I strive to treat my body like a temple. I’ve had it for forty-six-years and I want to keep it for another fifty at least! But as much as I try to eat healthy, it’s not always easy to make good choices.
So, I recently tried Fit Foodz Cafe and I was blown away. They not only offer fresh juices and smoothies, they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, cater, and have a weekly meal plan packages.
For starters, I tried the Avocado Bowls which are avocado halves filled with fresh salsa, feta cheese, and drizzled with reduced balsamic vinegar. Complete goodness in every way. My kids eat avocados like that.
I also had the Zucchini Cheese Bites with shredded zucchini, mixed cheeses, whole grain crumbs, egg whites, and served with house SUE-per sauce. This is a great appetizer to split with a few people, but I could have this an an entree by myself for sure.
For the second course, I had the Power Bowl Salad with mixed greens, avocado, hard boiled egg, unsalted pistachios, roasted chickpeas, craisins, goat cheese, and house SUE-per sauce. Now, this salad is amazing. The combination of ingredients are so good and tasty, and the dressing is to die for. I was shocked when I learned that it was made with tofu! What???
Another one of my favorites was the Quinoa Fried Rice. It has peas, carrots, egg whites, red onions, corn, bean sprouts, and low sodium soy. It’s totally addictive.
For the third course, I had the Harvs Healthy Pasta, a whole grain spaghetti with veggies. If I have a pasta craving, this pasta will hit the spot.
Zoodles anyone? This yummy dish was filled with artichoke hearts, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and roasted garlic. It was lighter than the spaghetti but still filling.
If you like Tofu – check out their Energy Bowls with black beans, brown rice, salsa, skim milk mozzarella, served with veg of the day or baked sweet potato rounds. You can also get the Energy Bowls with chicken. These both were very filling dishes so pace yourself!
We were served a mixed dessert platter and just when I thought I couldn’t eat anymore, I made room! REAL FAST. Their desserts were amazing. My favorite were the Vegan and Gluten Free Confetti Cookie Pies with Vegan Vanilla Icing. Originally, I tried the Vegan and Gluten Free Carrot Cake Cookie Pies with Vegan Vanilla Icing and decided those were my favorite. I took home the confetti ones for my sons. After all, I’m not a confetti type of gal. Well, guess what? They never saw the cookie pies. Guilty!
I can’t believe one of my favorite deserts has tofu in it! The Vegan and gluten free tofu mousse cups were amazing. I felt like I was totally indulging. This just goes to show some of us skeptics that with the right mix of ingredients and a genius behind the recipe, there is amazing, delicious, healthy food out there! It doesn’t have to taste like cardboard. EVER.
I love a good cookie and these Gluten Free Almond Butter Cookies and Paleo Double Chocolate Cookies were amazing. I’d have to say, they’d be perfect with a cup of almond milk. Yum.
They also carry Dairy and Gluten Free Chocolate Chickpea Brownies and Dairy and Gluten Free Chickpea Peanut Butter Blondies . I didn’t get to try them. I just couldn’t eat any more and will have to go back to try them, lol. It’s something I must accept!
With so much to offer, from catering to meal plans and a menu personalized for your dietary needs, or for anyone that wants to lead a healthy, clean lifestyle, Fit Foodz Cafe is for you. They have gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, and paleo options. Plus, you’ve got to try the Holiday Smoothies. I tried their famous Pecan Pie and it was addicting! I’ve got to take my kids there asap. I want them to see firsthand that healthy is yummy and that life doesn’t revolve around chicken nuggets – even though I make them fresh. There are too many options to pass this place up!
