September 9, 2020

My kids' birthday was quickly approaching and I was stressing over what kind of super amazing party I wanted to throw them. After many battles within my own mind, I decided to throw them a "simple" party at the park in my neighborhood. After all, it would be easier and cheaper, (wink-wink). And so it begins..."Are you going to have a piñata!?!" my husband asks, as if I could just whip it up in five minutes. Little did he know, it would take four days to prepare, lol. After checking out some local party stores I decided to go on an adventure with a DIY Halloween Pumpkin piñata. 15 Easy DIY Easter Crafts for Kids
March 17, 2020

Easter is around the corner and I am trying to drum up some new DIY Easter crafts for the kids.  They love Easter, more than Valentine's Day, so we try to make it a big deal in our house.  We don't do big Easter Baskets, but instead we get crafty.  That's not to say they don't get a ton of candy and chocolate for Easter but Easter Baskets are not the priority in our house. Last Easter I did a couple of fun Easter Crafts with my boys, like the DIY Bird's Nests Easter Treats and the DIY Bunny Pops. The Bird's Nests were just an excuse to get sugared up! But the best craft we did was the Keepsake DIY Painted Eggs. This is an awesome craft …

Celebrate Lightning McQueen Day with an Easy DIY Finish Line Flag
August 25, 2019

Guess what we are totally freaking out about? Lightning McQueen Day on September 5th! Lightning McQueen packs a 750-horsepower V-8 and can reach 60 mph in 3.2 seconds on his way to a 200-mph top speed.  My boys love anything with speed but they love their favorite character from the animated Pixar film Cars; Lightning McQueen. The kids are ready to open their Disney Pixar Cars 5 pack (available at Walmart) and get their engines rumbling.  It's a race between Shannon Spokes, Danny Swervez, Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm, and Brick Yardley. The only thing they need is a Finish Race Car Flag. So, we decided to make our own very simple race car flags for the finish line! The boys are excited and can't wait to see who wins …

How to make Chocolate Playdough
February 10, 2019

By now, you would think that I know how to make chocolate playdough, but I've honestly never thought about it until my 4-year-old's teacher asked me to make it for the class.  We've made regular playdough, but never scented, especially chocolate scented! I'm not going to say no to my son's teacher, right? But then it opened the doors to other things like mud play dough and poop playdough.  Only a #boymom could understand why anyone would want to make poopplay dough.  My boys are obsessed with anything that is related to poop (farting, burping, etc.). Play dough has many benefits like teaching kid's fine motor skills and creativity.  There are even sensory benefits to using playdough.  I put the pot on the counter so that they …

How to Make DIY Candles with Essential Oils

This past Holiday, my friend and I decided to get creative and make DIY candles as gifts for people.  It was such a rewarding experience to hand make candles for people we love, with our own mixes of Aromatherapy Essential Oil Blends. https://www.amazon.com/Goddess-Garden-Aromatherapy-Go-Multi-Colored/dp/B07Z75V6TL?dchild=1&keywords=Goddess+Garden+Organics+Aromatherapy+lava+bracelets&qid=1612065617&sr=8-2&linkCode=ll1&tag=momjunkycom-20&linkId=0ef6a974eed0aace808195a184b151af&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl Fragrance is pretty personal but when mixing essential oils, you can use different premade aromatherapy blends or individual essential oils. Goddess Garden Perseverance Aromatherapy Bracelet Goddess Garden has their own aromatherapy blends that I use for candles, sprays, and Aromatherapy Lava Bracelets. One of my favorite scents is Happy Day.   It's a happiness-boosting essential oil blend, featuring certified-organic citrus oils like bergamot and grapefruit.  Aromatherapy positively affects mood and alertness and can have many uses, especially homemade candles. How to Put Together the Best Holiday Cards
November 14, 2018

The Holidays are coming up fast and I am scrambling to get the family pictures together.  My boys are not easy when it comes to taking pictures.  Bribery helps. It is what it is. However, there is something else to consider when putting together Holiday cards. How do I put it together? What kind of card will I get? Us moms like to go all out. Last year we lived in Deerfield Beach, and knowing it would be our last Christmas holiday there, I decided to do beach photos. This year we live in Phoenix.  I'm thinking Christmas cactus instead of a Christmas tree for a prop. Fortunately, getting them ordered and put together is the easy part.  Basic Invite is perfect because you can preview everything on their site …

DIY Essential Oil Sprays with Goddess Garden
October 31, 2018

I recently went to Sedona and experienced the magnificent red rock.  Sedona is also known to be a mystical place where you can crystal shop and vortex hunt.   When I went I took my Essential Oils with me for inspiration for a DIY project. Essential Oils and crystals go hand in hand. Their benefits are so amazing, from aiding in sleeping, anxiety, breathing and can give you a mental boost.  Pairing them up and adding the crystal to the Essential Oils helps raise your vibration. Every day, when I turn on the hot water for my shower, I spray Eucalyptus Oil before I get in.  I've been doing this for at least 2 years. It helps wake me up (stimulates mental activity) and clears my sinuses.  …
