I was super excited to be a part of the Influenster team when they approved me to review the BellaVoxBox. It’s been a while since I have truly been able to play with makeup. For years I had trainings, lunches and gratis from every over the counter cosmetic company you can imagine. I worked for Armani Beauty, Lancome, Dior, Chanel, Clinique and many more brands. I feel pretty educated on skincare and makeup. But since I’ve had my children, I have not been able to really get down and dirty with makeup so this was a treat!
I received six products.
The first one I tried was Dove Dark Chocolate. I am a chocoholic. But I’m not a huge dark chocolate fan and definitely do not mix my chocolate with fruit with the exception of strawberries. But of course I have to try what I review, right? Damn you Dove!!!!! You pulled me right in with your silky smooth taste and I was hooked. I left maybe 5 pieces in case of an emergency. Dove Dark Chocolate with blueberries was amazing. #dangerous
The second item I tried was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss. Pretty! Pretty! Pretty! I love long lasting lipsticks and I loved the smell too. AND I love the price at $5.49. You can’t go wrong. Sometimes I add a little balm because my lips get dry with the mattier (is that a word?) lipsticks.
Along with the lipstick came Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara by Kate Moss. Since I worked for one of the leaders of mascara, Lancome, I have to say that I am pretty critical of these eyelash transformers. I later worked for another big one, Dior, and I sold a lot of DiorShow Mascara. But I was pleasantly surprised with this mascara. It’s really good. I like the brush a lot because it was easy to maneuver. At $5.49 you can’t go wrong. Now I’m not sure why anyone would spend $30 on a mascara after experiencing this one.
The next item I tried was the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. I can’t say that I’ve ever wished that I could put makeup on my legs. They might be really white and an embarrassment for someone that lives next to the beach, but I’d rather get a spray tan than put makeup on my legs. With two kids under four years old, I’m happy just to put some makeup on my face! I reluctantly tried it and it actually looks really nice. The shade was medium but still too dark for my chalky legs. But it blended in pretty well. If someone asked me for this kind of product, I would recommend it to them.
I also received an ECOTOOLS Mattifying Finish Brush. This brush is used for pressed or loose powder. My two favorite brands for brushes are Trish McEvoy and Bobby Brown. I have pretty high standards. So for $8.99 I was really impressed with this brush. It screams quality and I were to close my eyes and take a “brush test,” comparing ECOTOOLS to the ones I have, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. It’s a great brush.
Lastly, I tried Not Your Mother’s Deja Vu Du. This product was disappointing. It says that it is infused with red apples and berries but I did not like the smell AT ALL. It smelled like a cheap candle. Wah, Wah. Sorry. I have long hair and felt it was a little heavy when I put it on. I used the amount that was recommended. I did not like it.
All in all, the BellaVoxBox was packed with some great products. I am so glad that they allowed me to participate in reviewing these products and look forward to working with them more in the future!
