Essentials for Back to School During Covid-19
July 25, 2020

Thank you to any retailers who sent me pro I have never written a back to school list where I had to consider remote learning as well. Homeschooling during Covid-19 may be a breeze for some parents who have home schooled already but not me! It's a lot to take in. Even with school just two weeks away, I am still uncertain of how things are going to be and what we will need for back to school during Covid-19. We have been buying more disinfecting wipes and taking safety measures when we leave the house like wearing face coverings. We will do remote learning for the first 3 weeks so there is some wiggle room for school supplies. But there are certainty …

Creative Crafts On Etsy for Kids
July 16, 2020

Who doesn't love Etsy? So much to choose from. Lately, everyone is selling face masks. But Etsy offers a lot more that that! Lately, we've been looking for fun creative crafts for the kids to try. We found some kid's indoor activities when school abruptly stopped due to Covid-19. The kid's got bored staying at home all summer and we had to find more creative things to do indoors. I found some fun creative crafts for kids on Etsy to try like a Lip Balm Kit, Simply Sensory kits to spark creative play, Kids sewing kit for little ones to learn to sew, Kids Easter egg stained glass craft kits, and Kids butterfly + dragonfly stained glass suncatcher kits.

Fun DIY Rock Tutorials
July 15, 2020

We recently found ourselves looking for some new kids activities to do inside, because of Covid-19. Just when we think we can't find any thing more creative to do, I dig around and end up finding something, like fun diy rock painting tutorials. Unfortunately, we lost the privilege to just pick up and go to the park or go to the public pool or water park. This virus has tried to ruin our summer. Gone are the days of endless play dates. It's been trying on our family. But we did find some fun indoor activities to do, along with back yard activities including water toys. There's always something. Kindness Rocks Then I thought maybe we could do something nice for …

Projex
July 12, 2020

Boy, has this been a rough summer! We have had to get creative with indoor activities. I never knew staying home could be so stressful. The boys love their shooters but I don't care for the bullets flying by me or hearing the boys run up and down the stairs (as I cringe). Rules have been broken over and over this summer for the sake of my sanity. We were sent the best laser shooter that is bullet free, battery operated and great for travel. It's like having an arcade in your house! It's called Projex, a projecting game arcade and it's great for the whole family. Just point the blasters to any wall in a dark area and point …

The Razor Obstacle Course Challenge
June 30, 2020

This summer has been quite different from other summers in regards to outdoor activities. We are basically staying home due to Covid-19, but it hasn't stopped us from getting creative outside. We have to go outside, even when it's hot. We need the exercise and it keeps our minds active. These last few months have tested us so we have to come up with fun things to do like a DIY obstacle course. This was our first DIY obstacle course and since we are keeping to ourselves, the boys did it together. Later, we can do it again with our friends. We made six stations and used a few items to facilitate the obstacle course. What you'll need: Razor Scooter Jump …

April 21, 2020

Now, more than ever, with the outbreak of Covid-19, it is so important for everyone to keep their hands out of their mouth, their hands off their face, and to wash their hands. I found a product to keep the kids' hands busy and out of their mouth. ARK Therapeutic sells special need's writing tools, chewies and products for oral motor input and sensory stimulation. They also have products that help with hyper activeness and tools for autism. I've been told that they are both have symptoms of ADHD but I keep doing …

How to Make Wheat Free, Gluten Free Snacks for Kids
July 17, 2019

This post was sponsored by Blue Diamond® as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own My kids love making sandwiches out of crackers.  There's something about the ritual of making it.  They get excited about what they are going to put inside the sandwich and it becomes a step by step game for them. They also love the crunch! Sometimes, they get slight skin reactions from snacks that have wheat and gluten in them.  You don't know what you're buying when you get the premade processed stuff. But I found a way to get them to make these fun snack sandwiches by themselves using fresh ingredients that are wheat and gluten free. You shouldn't have to settle for …

How I Balance My Kid's Screen Time
January 25, 2019

This year is off to a great start and our family has so many new goals to accomplish for 2019! For myself, I have chosen to eat cleaner, do more reading, more exercise and spend more quality time with my boys. My boys have also started some new goals.  They get up with an alarm now, get dressed themselves AND make their beds.  Of course, you can't expect it to be done perfectly, but I give points for trying.  This has worked wonders for the kids.  It gives them a sense of duty and structure.  It has changed the tone of our morning routine immensely. The kids have also settled into playing with their Holiday toys and have chosen which ones they love, like the Fire HD …

5 Amazing Learning Toys for a 7 Year-Old
October 27, 2018

Something shifts when a boy turns 7-years old. The cuddles are less frequent, the kisses fade away and the hormones kick in. Their needs change and their play needs change too.  When he was younger we used play for learning.  Now he is learning for play. It's the end of an era for us.  No more Sesame Street, no more Super Hero costume obsession.  He is opinionated and sure of his needs.  My boy is growing up. So, I had to think about what to get him for his Birthday.  He loves to build and wants to be an engineer.  He also is creative and loves to draw.  I put my thinking cap on and found 5 great learning toys that worked for him and will …
