The Boathouse in Disney Springs

I received a complimentary dining experience to facilitate this article.  All opinions are my own.

We are the typical Florida family who likes to frequent Walt Disney World at least once a year.  But we have requirements for ourselves too.  It’s not all about the kids as this trip is also an escape from our busy lives.

We always stay close to Disney Springs to have access to it whenever we want.  In the last year, they have made some major renovations which give us even more reason to visit! One of the things we enjoy the most when visiting Disney Springs is discovering restaurants.

We found one that blew us away and has made it our number one priority to visit every time we go to Disney Springs.  There are so many reasons to visit the BOATHOUSE® restaurant in Disney Springs, but I found four big ones.

1. The BOATHOUSE® Restaurant and Location

Location is everything to us and we absolutely love Disney Springs.  There are many reasons we enjoy it, but the main reason is that it offers a variety of places to eat.

We hadn’t been to Disney Springsin a year and what a transformation!  A few new restaurants, but more notable are the many unique shops like Anthropologie and Sephora.  Lipstick is always a reason for me to go back, ha ha.

The Disney theme without the madness of a regular mall is perfect for families who want something different after the theme parks.   We also want a little luxury for ourselves.

That’s why we loved The Boathouse Orlando.  It was like going on vacation from Disney and indulging in another mini getaway, where dining takes on a whole new meaning. It’s the best waterfront dining in Disney Springs.

2. Experience and Atmosphere at the BOATHOUSE® Restaurant

I recommend sitting outside.  The last time we went, we were seated by the raw bar, which was pretty cool, especially for the kids, but if it’s nice outside, your best bet is out there.

This was our view and it is a scene that one doesn’t often get to experience.  Sure, anyone can sit outside and look at vintage boats, but this is an escape to the 1950’s surrounded by shiny vintage luxury boats of all kinds, each one being unique with its different mounts and colors.

The beautiful display of boats will have you getting up from your table and walking around.   The view from the restaurant is stunning, enhancing the dining experience in a way that can’t be duplicated.  It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity.

3. The BOATHOUSE® Restaurant Menu

Nothing says fancy and refreshing like a Strawberry Gin Fizz, especially at The BOATHOUSE®.  They know how to make their drinks! It is Hendrick’s Gin, Strawberries, Mint, Lime Juice, and soda water.

The menu at the BOATHOUSE® Restaurant has such a wide range of items on it from the Raw Bar to a Filet Mignon Oscar Style. I hear they have amazing filet mignon sliders and a decadent Boathouse Barbecue Bacon Burger. If you are really into burgers, they also have an award-winning burger called the Gibsons “Sandwich King” Burger  — it is the only one with its own USDA certification.

Our appetizer was decadent…perfect for two.

Desserts

I don’t share my desserts.  I might even order two but the Apple Crisp and Vanilla Ice Cream was amazing!  However, I ordered whipped cream on the side just to send me over the edge.  That might be a British thing.  We like cream on everything!  I recommend a side of cream with the Apple Crisp.  The brown sugar crumbles just melt in your mouth.  It was delicious and perfect for the season.

The Boathouse Restaurant has some amazing menu items, it’s a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

After dinner, we took an Amphicar Tour.

4. Vintage Amphicar Tours of Disney Springs

We had so much fun as a family on the Amphicar Tour.  This is truly one of a kind experience that shouldn’t be missed.   Imagine driving into the water and then sailing off around Disney Springs for twenty minutes and then driving back on land!

If you have never been on one, these amphibious autos are a little like being in Italian Water Taxis.

Tours are from 10 am to 10 pm and cost $125.  You can save $25 off by bringing your receipt from lunch to the shipping store before 3 pm.

You can find lake-themed merchandise, cards, fun gifts, and souvenir photo packages all while feeling like you shopping in the art deco period and stepping back into time again.

Dining at The BOATHOUSE® in Disney Springs™ is a “must-see” if you are visiting Disney Springs™ whether your dining outside next to the beautiful vintage boats, listening to live music or inside where there’s a hustle and bustle and a chance you could be dining inside a vintage boat (your very own dream boat).

Whichever way you decide to dine, the fantastic service stays the same.  They are on their toes, always making recommendations so that your dining experience is memorable. There is also private dining available.

When you go, you will see why it is one of the most popular restaurants at Disney Springs.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had! It always feels like it’s a special occasion when dining there. It was a great experience and I felt like I was at a Yacht club.
