4 Essentials to Kick off the New Year with Healthy Habits
Blog - January 3, 2019

January 1st came and went and within hours my goals and habits changed.  I learned so much from last year and I always start the new year off with new goals.  This year is different.  I know many of us say that, but I’ve watched people close to me get sick from not taking care of themselves.  I don’t want this to happen to me or my kids. At 47 years-old with two boys under 7, there’s never a better time than now! It’s time to develop healthier habits, for myself and for my family.

It’s called taking preventative measures to proactively stay healthy.  Sure, sometimes I skip the multivitamin or don’t drink enough water, but it’s about our whole health in general.   I go to the gym, but somehow, I’m out of shape.  How does that happen? For myself, it’s inconsistency.

So, I’ve decided to get healthier with four essential items along with getting out doors for some exercise.  They go hand in hand.

Vicks VapoCool Drops

This winter has been brutal on all my friends.  It’s no fun having a sore throat, it can make anyone want to crawl under the sheets.  Vicks VapoCool Drops will do the trick and vaporize the worst sore throat pain and offer cooling relief. Keep them handy, in your bag.  You never know when you might need them.  As soon as you feel a sore throat coming, you have reassurance knowing that you have some relief in your hand bag. That’s taking care of yourself!

What you put in your body, how much you put, and how it gets digested can be tricky.  I know that when I am not eating the right foods and not taking care of my overall health, my regularity is affected. So, I’m back on the bandwagon, eating better with smaller portions and getting regular.

Psyllium fiber has been my “go to” ingredient for curbing my appetite and helps with my digestive system and regularity.

Metamucil has 100% natural psyllium fiber and traps and removes the waste that weighs you down so you feel lighter and less sluggish.  It’s also sweetened with plant-based Stevia which is perfect for myself as I am on the Keto diet and try to eat as little sugar as possible.  Another bonus is that it also tastes good!Align Dualbiotic Gummies

Another way to support your digestive health is with prebiotics and probiotics.  You can get them all in one with  Align Dualbiotic Gummies. These yummy gummies contain a prebiotic fiber and inulin to help nourish good bacteria in your digestive system. They are tasty, easy to chew and have less than 1g of sugar per gummy.  I like that!

I travel a lot, so Align Dualbiotic Gummies go with me wherever I go now.  Traveling always does a number on my digestive system, so it’s reassuring to know that I have something that protects me.

Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash

Cold season has everyone scrambling, especially at school.  The kids are going back to school after the Holiday break completely healthy and we will continue to take measures to protect ourselves.  Bundling up and staying warm is key and along with keeping germs away.  Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash is formulated with antibacterial ingredients and kills 99.99% of germs.  The  “foaming action” of the Dial Hand Soap helps dissolves dirt and germs.

So much to think about for the upcoming year in regards to health and wellness. As an older mom, I worry about being my best when it comes to my health.  But when you have the tools it’s easy.  Getting outside with the boys, taking care of my digestive system and keeping germs away from the little hands and my own are a great start.

What are you doing to better yourself for the up coming year?

  1. Anti-bacterial soap goes quickly at my house. We are a family of constant hand washers! I love Dial soap. It’s what I grew up with.
