#smartforlife #cookiediet #momjunkydiet Week 23 Introducing the NLAL
Health & Fitness - April 13, 2016

2016-04-08 09.53.55So this week I got to try something new!  This thing is AMAZING! It’s called NLAL. What? NLazer Assisted Lipolysis (NLAL), it is basically light therapy that mimics the effects of liposuction.

Unlike liposuction which is invasive surgery, in other words someone sticks a metal tube inside you and vacuums the fat out, NLAL is non-invasive with no surgery, no scar, no blood, no mess. NLAL is cold LED light therapy so it does not remove the fat cells like surgical lipo does, but it shrinks them, which has a very similar effect: you lose inches.

The amazing thing about this cold light treatment is that you can target specific areas, just like surgical liposuction! You can target abdomen, waist, back, hips, thighs, upper legs, or arms. My problem has always been my stomach fat. Everything shrinks, and my stomach is the very last thing to go. It creates an imbalance in my physique which can only be treated two ways: get down to a bodyfat level where I wouldn’t like the way my face or arms look, or get lipo. I never wanted to go under the knife. First, I’m not a big fan of getting a metal tube inserted under my skin and moved around like I was a Thanksgiving turkey, and second it costs thousands of dollars I don’t have.

So when I learned about this NLAL cold light therapy that could bring me the benefits of lipo without the surgery and the expensive tab, I said “sign me up baby!”

This is how it works…

2016-04-05 09.33.21 I am doing 4 sessions total, 2 per week for 2 weeks. After a week I lost 7 inches on my stomach and you can tell! The protocol is pretty simple.  First you get measured in either 2 or 3 areas that you are targeting.  Then you get outfitted with the machine (a large pad which resembles a waist trainer), get on a treadmill and walk (or run) for 20 minutes. Exercising is not mandatory during NLAL therapy, but it is recommended. You are measured before and after so progress can be tracked accurately.

I have to admit, I was skeptical when I first heard about this treatment. How can a non-invasive machine live up to a surgical procedure? But after experiencing it first hand, I have to say I am very impressed.2016-04-05 09.33.07

I am looking forward to finishing my scheduled treatments and see how many inches I lose total.  In two treatments I love 7 inches total in two separate places.   I will post the details next week for my last blog post on this journey, along with a side by side. But I am loving the results.  I might even do a second round, who knows. I think I’m addicted to this machine now! Even my husband wants to get on it!
