At forty-five-years old, I am definitely worried about my skin.  Living in an area where plastic surgery is prominent, and Botox and Restylane are just a party away, the pressure is on!

My years working in cosmetics have taught me that a skincare regimen is important, and that’s exactly what I got when I received the Skin Medica kit.

IMG_6084The Skin Medica kit comes with Vitamin C+E, Dermal Repair, AHA/BHA Cleanser, TNS Eye Repair and Lip Plump System.  These are all anti-aging products perfect for someone like me.

The products I was most excited to try, believe it or not, was the lip plumper and lip renewal.  I have a bit of a plumper addiction! The TNS Lip Plump system targets signs of aging in the lips.  I love anything that helps with “smoker’s lines” around the lips, and helps smooth out the lips to give them a fuller appearance.

This kit came with a Vitamin C+E complex which is a serum that  helps improve the appearance of skin tone and texture.  I liked this serum a lot.  When I applied it I saw a visible difference in the appearance of my skin.  I really think it helped smooth out the pores and wrinkles.

The kit also came with a Dermal Repair Cream for day and night.  I love the smell of this cream!  Fragrance is important to me, and when I put a moisturizer on, it matters a lot.  I found this cream hydrating and nourishing for my skin  (normal to dry skin).  The only disadvantage to applying this during the day is that it doesn’t have sun protection in it.  In Florida this is important, however, sun protection would compromises the potency of the product.  So it’s better to use a separate UVA/UVB protection.

A skin regimen is not complete without and eye cream.  I tried the TNS Eye Repair.  It is extremely hydrating, and designed to help with dark circles and minimizing fine lines around the eyes.  It takes about twenty-eight days for skin cell turnover and I haven’t used it for that long, but it is definitely hydrating, and I am confident it will work as advertised.  With that being said, it was my least favorite item in this kit.

The last product I tried in the Skin Medica kit was the AHA/BHA exfoliating cleanser.  Alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids are great for exfoliating the skin and helping with skin tone.  I’m sure with continued use this cleanser would help brighten my skin tone.  It can be used day and night, but make sure you wear sunblock as the acids can cause skin sensitivity.

This is a great starter kit to get to know the Skin Medica line.  It is also a great gift for someone looking for antiaging products. Check it out HERE.
