This is a Sponsored Post for Juniors. However, all opinions are my own.
Juniors just celebrated 67 years in business. Founded by Harry Rosen in 1950, Junior’s landmark restaurant, located in Brooklyn, is known as the home of New York’s best cheesecake.
It was a pleasure meeting Kevin Rosen, the third generation owner running the business with his brother.
As soon as we sat down, we were served pickles, which is nice because it keeps your mouth and your hands busy while not filling you up.
I started with the Pastrami smoked salmon, which is exclusive to the Boca Raton menu. At first, I thought it was a combination of Pastrami and smoked salmon (that would have been weird), but it is smoked salmon with Pastrami spices (no meat). Kevin Rosen, the owner, highly recommended it and I’m so glad I chose it. It was amazing.
It was served with Onion Rye Toast and Mustard Dill Sauce. The flavor profile was perfect. A very well balanced dish, which isn’t always easy when it comes to smoked salmon.
My husband had the Matzoh Ball soup. It was light and delicious.
He also had the Pastrami-Swiss Cheeseburger with Onion Rings & Steak Fries. As decadent as it looks it was actually very well balanced and not greasy. Junior’s uses a leaner type of beef that you would expect in a traditional restaurant, so the burger is easy to eat, doesn’t sit on your stomach, and probably healthier too. It came with traditional steak cut fries and onion rings.
My entrée was the Pulled Pork Sandwich on Brioche Bun. It is served with a Creamy Cole Slaw and Crispy Onions with Fries. I ate ALL of it. It was so good and although it was a lot of food, it was light. The steak fries where amazing as well.
This is something I’ve never encountered. I was speechless when they put it on the table. A cheesecake on top of a milkshake. Crazy. This was the seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake on top of a Pumpkin Milkshake. However, the New Yorker is most likely to order the “One-and-Only” New Yorker Cake Shake (Strawberry Cheesecake on top of the Strawberry Milkshake). The picture does not do it justice. If you don’t know what to expect and you see this milkshake with a full-size slide of cheesecake sitting on top, it takes a minute to realize you’re not in a dream.
The Strawberry Cheesecake was amazing as well. So fresh. I’m not a big cheesecake fan myself but I love desserts. After trying Junior’s famous cheesecake, I’ve considered whether not it would be okay if I just eat it for dinner every night…
Because dessert would not be complete without chocolate, so we had the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake as well as the plain cheesecake (you know for good measure).
I never thought a plain cheesecake could taste like this. The Famous N0. 1 Original Cheesecake made me understand why people like plain cheesecake. I get it now. I really get it. I get why people from all around the country order it online. When I got home, I went and looked to see which ones I could send as gifts. I went from not really caring too much about cheesecake to looking for it online!
So, if you haven’t tried Junior’s, you must try one of their 4 locations. If none is nearby you, go online and order one of their cheesecakes, you won’t be disappointed. Once, you have it, you will be hooked!
The service is great, and the uniforms are adorable.
They will also be putting on Thanksgiving Dinner this year too. Thanksgiving fare begins at 11 a.m. The regular menu will be available, in addition to the Thanksgiving specials. Breakfast will also be served from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 24th.
Junior’s is offering two Thanksgiving specials featuring traditional family-style favorites, Roast Maryland Turkey ($23.95) or Roast Turkey Leg ($23.95). Both specials are served with chestnut stuffing, giblet gravy, green bean almandine, candied yams and cranberry sauce that flavorfully compliment their Butternut Squash Soup (cup: $4.95, bowl: $6.95) and hit home.
Of course, you can also order their cheesecakes online which is a fantastic idea for the Holidays.
