How to Make a Play Room Look Like a Living Room Space
March 6, 2019

This is a Sponsored Post for Home Depot.  However, all opinions are my own. Last year, we moved from Florida to Arizona and settled into a bigger house. In Florida things were a little cramped and the kids shared a room. Now they both have their own rooms and we have a huge back yard and extra space for them to have their own playroom. Yea! It was a total win moving to Arizona. With all this space, we have a playroom which is also a front living room and it looks cluttered.  We need some major home improvement. My visions of having tea with a friend while the kids play were starting to look slim.  No one wants to sit in a pile of …

15 Easy DIY Easter Crafts for Kids
February 26, 2019

Easter is around the corner and I am trying to drum up some new crafts for the kids.  They love Easter, more than Valentine's Day, so we try to make it a big deal in our house.  We don't do big Easter Baskets, but instead we get crafty.  That's not to say they don't get a ton of candy and chocolate for Easter but Easter Baskets are not the priority in our house. Last Easter I did a couple of fun Easter Crafts with my boys, like the Bird's Nests Easter Treats and the Bunny Pops. The Bird's Nests were just an excuse to get sugared up! But the best craft we did was the Keepsake DIY Painted Eggs. This is an awesome craft because you can personalize …

6 DIY Easter Bunny Treats
February 17, 2019

I was never into Easter decorations and sweets until I had kids.  In Greece, Easter is a major religious holiday and in England we had a chocolate egg filled with chocolates but no Easter Baskets. When I moved to the U.S. it was a little strange getting an Easter Basket.  So, I still don't really do anything too big for the kids.  I'd rather make stuff with them.  I hide some eggs and get some items from  Target to build a little basket for them.  But I don't like to be excessive. I do really love fun DIY Easter Bunny treats though and so do the kids. So, I found 6 really awesome DIY Easter Bunny treats to make this Easter. The first one is my …

How to make Chocolate Playdough
February 10, 2019

By now, you would think that I know how to make chocolate playdough, but I've honestly never thought about it until my 4-year-old's teacher asked me to make it for the class.  We've made regular playdough, but never scented, especially chocolate scented! I'm not going to say no to my son's teacher, right? But then it opened the doors to other things like mud play dough and poop playdough.  Only a #boymom could understand why anyone would want to make poopplay dough.  My boys are obsessed with anything that is related to poop (farting, burping, etc.). Play dough has many benefits like teaching kid's fine motor skills and creativity.  There are even sensory benefits to using playdough.  I put the pot on the counter so that they …

How to Make DIY Homemade Candles with Essential Oils
January 31, 2019

This is a Sponsored Post for Goddess Garden, however, all opinions are my own. This past Holiday, my friend and I decided to get creative and make DIY, homemade candles as gifts for people.  It was such a rewarding experience to hand make candles for people we love, with our own mixes of Aromatherapy Essential Oil Blends. Fragrance is pretty personal but when mixing essential oils, you can use different premade aromatherapy blends or individual essential oils. Goddess Garden has their own aromatherapy blends that I use for candles, sprays, and Aromatherapy Lava Bracelets. One of my favorite scents is Happy Day.   It's a happiness-boosting essential oil blend, featuring certified-organic citrus oils like bergamot and grapefruit.  Aromatherapy positively affects mood and alertness and can have many uses. DIY Essential Oil Sprays with Goddess Garden
October 31, 2018

This is a sponsored post for Goddess Garden, however, all opinions are my own. I recently went to Sedona and experienced the magnificent red rock.  Sedona is also known to be a mystical place where you can crystal shop and vortex hunt.   When I went I took my Essential Oils with me for inspiration for a DIY project. Essential Oils and crystals go hand in hand. Their benefits are so amazing, from aiding in sleeping, anxiety, breathing and can give you a mental boost.  Pairing them up and adding the crystal to the Essential Oils helps raise your vibration. Every day, when I turn on the hot water for my shower, I spray Eucalyptus Oil before I get in.  I've been doing this for at least 2 …

Why Fresh Produce is Essential for Canning
July 11, 2018

This is a Sponsored Post for Ball with Everywhere Agency.  However, all opinions are my own. I love preserving food and canning. Whether it be making jam, meal prepping, or simply storing beans and pasta.  It is a no-brainer for a busy mom like myself.  But what's the point in canning if you're not using the freshest ingredients? Why would you can and preserve something that is not at its freshest? And where do you find the freshest ingredients? I have purchased my fruits and veggies from grocery stores and either scrubbed them or purchased organic only to be disappointed by the quality. So, I started going to Farmers Markets. I like to learn about where the produce is locally grown, and get to know the people.   …

How to have a TMNT Party for a Four-Year-Old
April 5, 2018

This is a Sponsored post.  However, all opinions are my own.  There are also affiliate links in this post which means that if you click on a link and purchase something, I will make commission . I love doing Birthday parties for my kids.  It’s fun to organize, brings out the creativity in me and makes me feel like a kid again! Last year we had a very successful LEGO Themed party for my three-year-old.  This year he’s turning four-years-old and wanted a Ninja Turtle Themed party.  I can’t say I was happy he chose that, especially since he doesn’t watch it or even know what it is.  He must have heard of it from school or maybe saw his brother play a Ninja Turtle game.  Either …

How to Make Keepsake DIY Easter Eggs Using 4 Items
March 28, 2018

This post contains affiliate links which means that if you click on a link and purchase something, I will make a commission. I recently when to an Easter Egg painting party.  It was fun and entertaining, and the kids had a blast.  Who doesn't like glitter and glue, stickers and dyes?  They really enjoyed it.  What a great tradition! However, I'm all about simplicity and purpose.  I like to do crafts that can be used for the future.  Maybe I'm just secretly trying to get mementos from the kids to save for later.  I'm very sentimental and appreciate it more when they make things I can save.  I'm not up for boiling eggs and making a mess.  The least number of items we use the better.  …

"Create Your Happy" DIY Rock Painting with OOLY
March 2, 2018

Thank you to OOLY for donations to the The Monette Enrichment Fund for Children and for giving me supplies to facilitate this this article.  Some links may be affiliate links which means that if you click on a link and purchase something, I will receive commission.  All opinions are my own.  How do your kids "create their happy?" Do they sing to themselves or jump in puddles? My boys are rough and tumble boys all the way.  Climbing, skateboarding, biking, jumping, playing in the dirt;  you name it, they will do it!  But they also LOVE art and creating projects.  They take so much pride in their artwork and spend hours painting and making crafts.  I love watching them "create their happy." There are so many craft …

How to Make Non Candy Valentine's Conversation Starters with Recycled Crayons
February 13, 2018

This is a Sponsored Post and contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on a link and purchase something, I will receive commission. I'm not sure how long the Valentine's Conversation Starter candies have been out.  I've been receiving them since I was a little girl.  I never even liked the taste of them.  They always ended up going to waste. Every year the kids come home with candy for Valentine's Day and every year I take some and dump them.  Don't get me wrong, they get candy.  But we don't need more dentist visits so I'm particular about what they keep.  No chewy candy that can sit in their teeth.  This year I bought tiny heart lollipops for my little one's class. But for …
